Description - Bed and breakfast

From this charming apartment in an ancient building in the latin quarter you can hear the bells of notre dame as if it they were next door --- because they are. it's one of the sweetest sounds in paris, and you will never forget it after you have lived here.

This centuries-old place belongs to an American ex-pat author, guide, photographer, dramatist, inventor, and artist who was a friend of Henry Miller. You host knows Paris well and can provide you with the insider tips you need to see the best of Paris and the Latin Quarter and find the finest food and most beautiful art in the neighborhood.

Your room is on the pedestrian-only rue de la Huchette, one of the oldest and most historic streets in the latin quarter, a street as old as notre dame, in a 17th century building with unique charm.

it's a prestige address which will impress your french acquaintances, very well situated with regards to metro, buses, and strolls along the quais. three of the most beautiful churches in paris are within a hundred yards, the paris flower market is three minutes away, the famous shakespeare and company book store is a stone's throw, and the louvre, the cluny museum, the mint, and the art gallery neighborhood are all an easy stroll from the door. there are at least a hundred restaurants within two blocks of the front door, and three places to dance within fifty yards of the door, a jazz club, and a dozen 'in' clubs and pubs where you can meet new people within a hundred steps.

Staying here has another unique advantage: you will be living on sacred ground, surrounded by four of the most beautiful and revered churches in Europe. It is no coincidence that Notre Dame, La Sainte Chapelle, and St Severin, and St. Julien were built right at this spot, because it's a magic location where telluric forces in the earth cause you to feel better and sleep better. You'll sleep better here than at any other spot on the continet.
